On a Friday afternoon in June 2022, Kelsey Wilson, an on-duty police officer, responded to a call outside her local grocery store. Using her baton to smash open a car window to save a life, she sliced her wrist, leaving her with life-changing injuries. The aftermath of that incident was the darkest period of her life. The loss of freedom, independence, and the ability to perform daily tasks led to struggles with dark thoughts. Kelsey turned to self-care as a way to cope with the pain.
Lighting a candle and engaging in a nighttime beauty routine became the ritual that provided a much-needed sense of tranquility and stability. She began to see a light within her darkness and wanted to help others see that same light.
