Learn more about the powerhouse behind the company, Kelsey Wilson

Just as I found comfort and peace in the flickering flame during my most challenging moments, I aim to bring that same sense of calmness and tranquility to others.”– Kelsey Wilson, owner Pearl & Company’s candles are symbols of hope, strength, and the triumph of the human spirit. They embody the search for light within darkness.

On a Friday afternoon in June 2022, Kelsey Wilson, an on-duty police officer, responded to a call outside her local grocery store. Using her baton to smash open a car window to save a life, she sliced her wrist, leaving her with life-changing injuries. The aftermath of that incident was the darkest period of her life. The loss of freedom, independence, and the ability to perform daily tasks led to struggles with dark thoughts. Kelsey turned to self-care as a way to cope with the pain.

Lighting a candle and engaging in a nighttime beauty routine became the ritual that provided a much-needed sense of tranquility and stability. She began to see a light within her darkness and wanted to help others see that same light. Realizing the power of candles in bringing peace and calmness, she found a new purpose in sharing happiness and resilience with the world through her handcrafted candles.Kelsey herself thoughtfully hand pours all the candles with her injured hand, taking back her power.

As you light one of Pearl & Company’s candles, they hope you find solace and comfort, just as Kelsey did during her journey of healing. These candles are not only meant to brighten spaces, but also to ignite the spark of resilience within you, reminding you of your inherent strength to overcome any obstacle. Each candle is infused with the essence of resilience and the power to find light within one’s darkest hours.

Pearl & Company’s candles are non-toxic, phthalate-free, cruelty-free, gluten-free, and vegan, with no artificial dyes. They’re made with premium fragrance oils, a plant-based wax blend, and 100% cotton wicks that are free of lead and zinc. After her experience, Kelsey hopes to use Pearl & Company to create a college foundation for those who have lost a parent to suicide as a first responder, in hopes of giving the child a brighter future.
